I am forcing myself -- FORCING myself! -- to work in Painter to get over my habits. I still wound up switching back to Photoshop for chunks. :|

Anyway, a shot of simpler, less megalomaniacal times. I love Thrall and all, but... for whatever reason, my heart rests with some sparkly mage-on-mage action. Kael'thas and Jaina, the love that died before it really began! How romantic!

(Arthas does not figure into my debate, as Arthas is an idiot.)

(Edit: ha, I just realized I should have adjusted Kael's lighting when I changed this from a daytime scene to one where the magic is the main light source. Oh well, I cannot be bothered by this point!)

(Son of edit: crap, now that's bugging me. ...Plan on seeing this deviation updated with a newer version sometime in the future.)

(Daughter of the son of edit: okay, fixed, along with some minor stuff that was bugging me.)

I won't argue pushing him out of the equation! :giggle: This is such a sweet painting too! :aww: Kael'thas would have been better off with Jaina than going down his current path.

You realize she was AFRAID of him.. right? '^^ He was more a teacher than even a friend, much less a lover.. And by the time she lost her intimidation Arthas was already a DK and had destroyed the High Elves and Kael was too "You slept with THAT?!" to consider it.. '^^

How is Arthas an idiot though? O.o If you're gonna anti-canon based on a reason like that you could give evidence of your claim at least..

Artistically speaking this looks great though. ^^ Methinks you did an especially good job on Kael's appearance and personality. ^^ All cute and smooth and smug, hehe.

Kael'Thas and Jaina are looking cute. :D

I don't really support this pairing, but I can admit when I see something really cute.

Maybe, in an Alternate reality, they made beautiful blonde half-elf babies together. :)

*3* I feel the same way about these two yeeeeeeeeee!! ^^ <33333333333 *favorited to peices* I love how you made their magics all flowey together, and the sparkly prettyness of their eyes *3*

It's so awesome and nice and kyute ^^

Only thing is Jaina's nose is like poking almost straight up which kind of looks weird.

But other than that, Kael'thas is hawt, and everything is so awesome and the colours are so preetee ^_^

xD The canon of them always makes me rofl, because by the time Jaina actually was almost considering it Kael was too "YOU SLEPT WITH *THAT*?!" x'';P LOL.

Technical standpoints, this is beautiful~ ^^ I love everything about the magic floaties, the lighting is so nice, and Kael is AWESOME. And I mean that both from a 'looking for what it is' and from a 'relation to how he's described in canon' standpoint. :3
